A digression but one of my gripes as a continuous cruiser who tries
(mostly successfully) to play by the rules, I cannot vote. The rules on
voter registration are that you need to do it 6 weeks before the
election and you need to be living in the constituency on the day you
register. Staying in the same constituency for 6 weeks would usually
breach the CC rules so the only way is to make a false declaration or to
register on a land address where I don't live, such as my Mum's house
which is the address I use for my post. I do wonder if this would affect
her council tax or other benefits though.

I do believe there are enough travellers of one type or another for us
to have our own national constituency. A dedicated representative for
people who move around on land or water would also better serve our
needs than an MP, whose area I happen to live in for 2 weeks every few
months, but I've never had much success in convincing people of this in
the past.
