Hi

I'm looking for a bit of advice please - I wonder if anyone can help? My
Dad, who will be 73 this year, has been boating single-handedly around the
canal system for the last few years since my Mum died. They were great
canal enthusiasts - in the 1970s he built a wooden canal cruiser and for a
time they both lived onboard a boat and travelled the canal network. Last
year he did the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, one of the few canals they had
never cruised, and this year he was planning to do the Lancaster Canal for
the first time.

However, he rang up the Ribble Link line today and found that although he
could be fitted in at the end of this month there wasn't an available space
to return until the end of September, which would be too late for him to
return down South where he is based for the winter. He was also hoping to
do the Liverpool Link but has found that is also fully booked.

He said to me a couple of weeks back that he thinks this may be the last
year that he cruises a long distance. I would love him to be able to have
the opportunity to cruise these canals while he's got the chance. Is there
anyone who might be able to help with this please?

Thanks very much for any advice.

Liz
