He was in his 70's too at the time, but he only had a small GRP boat. What type/size of boat does your dad have? I am sure there must be some last minute cancellations for the return journey? Just a thought, but maybe if he cruised back towards the link he could find a return slot, or use the craneage option as a last resort? Good luck. I really hope your Dad achieves his wishes. Phil
