You've obviously never worked for the motor industry then. In my last job at 
Jags we had to supply receipts for everything except coffee/tea bought from a 
machine and UK taxi fares. The reason being that those two categories didn't 
issue receipts. Continental taxi fares had to be receipted because those 
drivers can and do issue them. No first class fares for anything were allowable 
to the oiks, except first class air fares if the flight was more than 12 hours 
and you were going straight into a meeting rather than having a day of 
recuperation before the meeting. Even then the management would try to persuade 
you to go second class.
Expenses claims were then scrutinised by your immediate manager and then, 
again, by his manager.
