Question. When hot, will it start OK if you take a short piece of wire and connect the motor positive to the solenoid terminal? If yes, then fit a car fuse box type relay, mounted on the starter or a similar close location, to switch a connection between the two terminals used in the test above and operated from the original solenoid wire from the keyswitch. It certainly cured Jannock as the problem was the volt/current drop through the wiring from the battery to the key and back to the starter. The relay now applies full battery volts to the solenoid whilst the key just has to pass the low current relay actuating voltage. Contact me offline if you want full details of relay and wiring.
