They were always keen on moving Oxford around in the series anyway, St Hildas College Dining Hall once became Summertown Library. It's also quite amusing to hear my daughter, who lives in Oxford, watching both Lewis and Morse commenting on how the cast walk into one building only to emerge from the same building into a totally area of Oxford. The pub was The (Malt?) Shovel which used to open onto the lockside when it was the plain and simple Shovel. Just a short cycle ride to Oxford then.
