Apologies for the previous e-mail.... I've never been able to get capture server running successfully on Ubuntu 7.10 so I took a break and decided to try again last night. Below are the steps I've done recently,
1. Uninstalled and re-installed VMWare server using the latest build (1.0.4build 56528), then rebooted 2. Uninstalled and re-installed the vmware-vix api, then rebooted. 3. Installed a new Java engine (1.7.0-b21 mixed mode linux-x86); icedtea-java7-bin, icedtea-java7-jdk, icedtea-java7-jre, and more, then rebooted 4. Changed java preferences to use java7 via "update-alternatives --config java" I'm still running into the same error when attempting to run capture server ============================= # An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0xb7650c02, pid=10197, tid=3073461136 # # Java VM: IcedTea Server VM (1.7.0-b21 mixed mode linux-x86) # Problematic frame: # V [libjvm.so+0x316c02] ============================= hs_error log sent in previous post
