bill, could you elaborate on what you mean by installation of the vix libs?

you should not download the vix libs. they might be the incorrect version. rather the ones provided with vmware server are the ones you want.

I've never been able to get capture server running successfully on Ubuntu 7.10 so I took a break and decided to try again last night. Below are the steps I've done recently,

I'm still running into the same error when attempting to run capture server
