That may have been my bad, Christian. I layered VMware-vix-1.1.2-59824.i386over the newly installed VMWare server (not knowing the VMWare server contained it).
Would you suggest an uninstall of VMware-vix-1.1.2-59824.i386 and then a complete re-install of VMware? I'll also revert back to java-6 and try again.
