Jabber have more as 40 components. And additional near 200 different services. For demo proposes i installed 2 only. The component Conference and the User directory. EL> c) Jabber needs an extra server while the intranet module does not. Wrong: The intranet module requires a Email server configured. For hospital use you need a special Email configuration. I don't thing it is a good idea to use a standard distribution configuration for mailing inside a hospital. This needs own knowledge or consulting. This is a service like the Open Source Community have their business modell. It seems there is no business model inside care2x. This is admins work of the IT departement or of outsourcing it to companies who have the knowledge or provide service. Most hospitals do it in one of this 2 ways. Yabber is preconfigured for intranet use but it makes no sense for demo proposes. There is a good documentation how to install a jabber server. There are many servers available. http://www.jabber.org/software/servers.php There is a list of server features: http://www.jabber.org/software/serverfeatures.php I use because its GPL the jabberd 1.x Administrators don't like to set up the newest software. They like to go the way stable. So i never set up Apache 2 or upgrade to a newer php or mysql version at the moment. ##### The first days i tested jabber 2.x server. I did free international phone calls via the jabber server to normal telephones in a good quality. But i decided to downgrade for the demo. ##### I think u are very good in programming. But network administration your experience is limited. Here the developer team have very good people. The financial aspect for companies for care2x implementations is highly necessary. Maybe 10% of hospital staff - doctors and nurses use at their work unalowed IM like ICQ or Yahoo. This is highly unsecure. With the implementation of a jabber server we can give a hospital high security. Because a jabber server can work as a firewall.
