Hi Ticket plus,
this post will be copied to both the FAQ and forum sites due to the frequency
of the question.

You only did the "admission" of the patient at the
"administrative admission" level. This can be called pre-admission phase. In
this phase, the patient is not yet truely admitted in the ward and can in
fact be cancelled. To admit the patient truely, one needs to go inside the
ward and click on the patient's name in the "waiting list" box on the upper
right corner. A window will pop up prompting you which room and bed to
assign. After the assignment, the patient will appear on the ward list. You
can open the admission data again with the links to documentation functions
by clicking on the patients name or the yellow card icon on the list. This
time, the medical history, allergy, etc functions will show a text-input for
writing a "novel".
Just try following the above procedure again.
You might wonder why this long and complicated path. Well, the reason lies on
the current workflow of the software based on a multidepartment hospital (not
a single department gp clinic). In our hospital, the administrative admission
is done in a separate department by non-medical clerks and patients go there
to be admitted (administratively) so long as they are mobile (if not, a nurse
or aide just phones in the data to the clerks, in some cases bring the
patient data to the clerks). After this phase, the patient reports to the
ward with the proper papers, barcodes etc. (or is brought to the ward if he
is not yet there in the first place). This time, the nurse admits the patient
finally and all subsequent documentation can begin. The care2x workflow just
mimics this procedure.
The problem surfaces when we attempt to use care2x in a single department gp
clinic. In this case, a single person (the doctor or nurse) attempts to do
all the roles at the same time. One naturally wants all things be done at the
same time and the current workflow of the software becomes a hindrance. This
is the reason for starting the "PM/GP" version of care2x. It plans to
redesign the workflow to fit the actual work procedures in a single clinic.
Unfortunately, there is no release available yet. It is still in the planning
phase.
Regards,
Elpidio
