Hello Roderick,
basing on the description, you have registered a patient but not yet
admitted to a ward that
is why you see him on the list on the right. The patient is on the
so-called "waiting list" for that ward.
What you need is to click that patient on the list and a window will pop
where you can select the bed to
be assigned.
