Hi, MySQL 5 compatibility should not be an issue with last betas. I made some changes about this.
That time I also tried to make care2x compatible with newest version of adodb and php5, but failed mainly because of my not so deep understanding of php. The problems were around using of sessions and things about this. If somebody has experience with such migration and wants to help let him raise his hand. I think for the current major version 2.x we need to solve these issues, but only if this will take relevantly small resources. I see the next major version 3.x as using some php framework with MVC support. This will leave future compatibility issues to the framework package. I am currently under investigation of such framework projects. However, I will present this idea in another mail. Back to the current topic: there are other libraries like phpmyadmin and nocc which are shipped with care2x package. They are quite outdated too, but do their job ok. There is almost no integration of these packages with care2x. It should be discussed if such packages are really needed to be included in the care2x packages.
