Hello everybody I have been following care2x for a while. It seems to be a nice alternative for the hospitals, specially the “non particular”
I am from México, and I am finished my IT masters. And as my final project, l'd like to do something interesting with Care2x and another open source system, but this time, is a telephony system known as Asterisk. There are plans to deploy a highly customized version (this is in process) on a pediatric hospital (where my wife works) to solve some problems like the lag on patient attention, the “mysterious” loss of resources (medicine and medical supply) and, of course, the hardest one, the billing module. But this is another history. Next, I will paste the general description of my project. “This project will use the open source, IP PBX “ASTERISK” as the system core. It will be used the database of another open source GNU system known as “Care2x” (a Hospital Information System or HIS), specifically, the outpatient module. The final objective will be to schedule an appointment using the telephone and the possibility to call the user to remind him the date and time. In a further stage, this will extend to laboratory studies and radiology. All the general (and specific) tasks will be documented (photographs, diagrams, screenshots, and the most significant commands) There will be no a step by step guide, since the problems and circumstances on each deployment, can vary in very significant ways, giving as result, the misdirection to the reader or obsolescence of this work, (as many tutorials in the internet)” I am now working on it, as I have scheduled my exam on mid November.
