Hi John,
So, by generating the surface in caret5 (as opposed to SureFit)....I don't get this error when flattening. thanks

You will
>need to load your segmentation volume and start the segmentation
>process with the input volume being your segmentation volume. On
>the Segmentation Operations page, make sure Automatic Error
>Correction is NOT selected. Sometime after pressing the Next button
>the Partial Hemisphere Padding Dialog will pop up. Check the
>"Negative Y (Posterior)" box since you are processing (I believe) a
>frontal lobe. This will artificially extend the frontal lobe so
>that it can be flattened. When a surface is generated, the paint
>file will identify this artificial extension as "CUT.FACE". When
>you get the error message about "Paint Names are not in Paint File",
>this is due to the CUT.FACE nodes not being found.
>
>----------------------------------------------------------
>John Harwell
>[EMAIL PROTECTED]
>314-362-3467
>
>Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology
>Washington University School of Medicine
>660 S.
