I'd like to propose that we adopt a policy of removing users from the
list if their mail client/system sends OOO spam to the list in response
to posts. (Sending OOO spam to posters directly, on the other hand, is
annoying but manageable.) Whether or not to inform the user is up to
the discretion of whoever takes the initiative to do the work. I've
attempted to politely handle personal OOO spam by notifying users, and
I've had a response rate of less than 5%, so I don't believe there's
much value in notification.
