I can confirm the link disabling in 7.1. It's part of the munge_block
script, and is necessary to be sure simulink will let a block modify
itself. I didn't seem to have much trouble simulating and compiling
10.1 blocks, but had strange hardware problems, so I have given up on
10.1 for now.
