regarding possible fpga chips for roach II: xilinx released a virtex 6 brochure on their web site: the table on page 4 at http://www.xilinx.com/publications/prod_mktg/Virtex6_Spartan6_Product_Brief.pdf shows the virtex6 SX475T chip will have 2,016 multiplier/accumulators (DSP48's) 36 high speed serial I/O 36 Mbits block ram that's 2 Tera-op/sec per FPGA, (1 Tera-MAC/sec) and nine 10Gbit ethernet ports (or nine 20 Gbit infiniband ports) the roach II board should probably use the 1759 pin package, because this can accomodate several different virtex 6 parts. dan
