I fixed this by allowing all users to create files in the root directory, that is, C:\ . When I hacked mkbof the last time, I replaced mktmp() with tmpfile() or vice versa. Whichever one I changed it to created the files in the user's TMP directory instead of in the root. Anyway, I know how to fix it now. (But I bet our system administrators will not approve...) <snip> John
