That is scary! Fortunately, the PSD Group here has supported systems if
I need to borrow one.

I have the same problem with TAMS and their GPIB software. For years
they wouldn't even support 64-bits. I ended up with a solution that
didn't depend on their software.
when we switched to a xilinx supported operating system, everything
worked.
we still don't know why this problem was related to the operating system
we were using.
Sobering. Still, it would be good if people would share their non-RH
successes here. I'm cautiously migrating from Debian to Ubuntu, b.t.w.
I think their support is better, very good, actually.
