Hi

Re: Heat Pipes

It's amazing how opportune things cross the desk when a topic arises, or,
one only notices them when the problem is fresh in one's mind. An early
version of this company's software was what our contractor used.

I also should have mentioned that the heat pipes are slightly flexible, so
it is mechanically easier to make sure the block mounted to a device fits
snugly, without precision milling of a complex manifold.

Investigating UAV Avionics Cooling On-Demand Webinar

*An Investigation into UAV Avionics Cooling
On-Demand Webinar Presentation*

See how concurrent computational fluid dynamics technology can be used to
investigate avionics cooling on-board a UAV helicopter.

This brief 20 minute
presentation<http://www.imakenews.com/eletra/go.cfm?z=opensystems%2C640454%2CbsjdpJw7%2C6531238%2CbmgLCg4>will
cover:

   - external and internal flow calculations to determine impacts on
   cooling system performance
   - an investigation of alternative cooling duct designs for a detailed
   avionics bay model
   - zoom-in analysis to predict junction temperatures for discrete
   electronics devices

The entire study is performed using a single CAD model, directly in the
CAD environment with no CAD translation.
