In addition to running an older kernel as others have pointed out, I think you 
might also be using an older root file system:

Having the rootpath end with "etch" suggests that you are using a root file 
system based on Debian "Etch", which used for ROACH1.  The ROACH2 filesystem is 
now based on Debian "Squeeze".
