I had tried a couple of times each dragging/dropping and right-clicking, but to no avail. Yes, many properties dialog boxes for Xilinx blocks open in the background at the moment - it's not that. Matlab (and the workstation) have both been restarted a couple of times while trying to solve this. I'm going to contact Xilinx to see what they think, as this seems very unusual. I'll keep trying and will post the solution when (if!) it comes. Did you drag-and-drop the black box block into the model from the library or did you right-click it in the library and pick "Add to model"? Are you sure that the dialog box didn't pop up behind other windows (sometimes happens on Linux with X11)? Does your model already have a "System Generator" block in it?
