We have CBYRA (cbyra.org) and I would urge all racers who are members to contact them as well to see what kind of pressure they may be able to apply. Sadly that may only include Tim and myself, and Tim probably didn't join last year as his boat never actually got splashed.

Does Maryland have an organization like PICYA?
They?ve been know to circulate letter drafts to member club commodores to get quick action. They also fund in part RBOC that lobbies Sacramento on the behalf of the states boaters. I think there best role is keeping track of who?s about to author what but they also provide some assurance law makers don?t ignore serious boaters. (Recent laws about tailpipe sucking not withstanding.)

I think some of them retired to Cape O Cod and now serve on the town council - there was a vote in the fall elections that passed by a huge margin. The town clowns decided that they had to vote on it in a council meeting and it would have gotten voted down if it wasn't for the two guys standing in the back of the room with tar and feathers lest the elected councilors went agains their constiuency -
