Hi Harvey,   When I’ve done a 12V outlet install I chose the Marinco brand outlet, Anchor brand cable, fused the power at the source, and shielded the receptacle form the elements by installing it inside the combing compartment.   The factory installed 12V outlet on Wing Tip is in the port combing compartment which it shares with a shore power inlet and a 120V outlet.
