I was getting high, consistent 6s yesterday on the GPS. We rarely dropped below 6 all day.

The general calculation for displacement type boats is: 1.34* square root of water line length in feet. Of course that doesn't mean you won't see say 7 knots over ground or 3 knots through the water.
