Have you replaced fuel filters lately? They can get clogged up and reduce
rpms. Also, if fuel is old it can result in increased sooty emission. Or it
may be as you suggest, bad injectors. There is probably a product you can
run through the system to try to clean them out. I'd try all of the above
before replacing injectors.
