Title: Re: catalina27-talk: Flax

I'm pretty sure that's what I have too. It has worked like a charm for the two years I've had it:

I've used GFO packing for several years.  The stuff is great.  After a
couple of hours of run time and one adjustment, it's been almost dripless
for a couple of years.  It drips maybe one drop per minute when running the
engine -- hardly at all.  Yet the stuffing box doesn't get hot.  It doesnt
drip at all when the engine is off.

The bilge is dry whenever I come back to the boat (except for fresh water
leaking in one or two places like the hatch)

I used the GFO packing successfully this year. It worked as specified.
