Henry, This fall I purchased the largest Garelick model for my Merc. 9,9 hp big foot model, which weighs 125 lbs. I am currently in the process of glassing the "plug" into the transom and re-enforcing it to support the bracket. I also had a backing plate made from stainless at a local shop. With the Michigan winter as it is I probably won't get the project done until mid April. I am really impressed with the bracket, it feels strong enough and it was really the only option through the WEST catalog. It also was the only way to get the motor out of the water while racing and clear of the zebra mussels while at the dock. Not much real information here, but I hope it helps.
