David,

One of the reasons for my decision to use breeze is that I did not have to fill in any of the cutout. Otherwise I was looking at how to fiberglass in a large whole when i know not how to do any fiberglass. As you said before you are off center so that may mean one of the other brackets would make a lot more sense.

This is a very useful thread to me. If we summarize, I think there are three acceptable choices for a C-27 outboard bracket.

This one is Outboard Motor Mount, Four Spring, Product #: Z2275, $289.00 from Catalina Direct.

There is the Garelick line, which was discussed by Listees in the last couple of weeks. It turns out Garelick has quite a number of models, which can be seen on this link: http://www.cgedwards.com/garelick/gar1.html. I would say a ballpark figure is about $200 to $300.

And then there is the Breeze Eze-Slide, from _http://www.breezeindustries.com/marine.htm._ This certainly looks like a good unit, but at $900 or so, would not make a lot of sense on my old boat.

One major consideration is the amount of travel, so that the motor gets all the way out of the water when anchored, but is properly immersed when under way. For me, the mount needs to fit off-center, so I have to keep that in mind.

Any other candidates?

You might want to E-Mail or call the company. I looked into
getting one of these about six months ago. At that time the
company was not making the bracket. From what I recall, mounting
this bracket off to the side might not be possible. For what it’s
worth, I went with the bracket that Catalina Direct sells:

I haven’t decided what type of motor to use yet but the bracket
works fine on my friend’s C-25. He uses a Honda 9.9 (w/ Elec.
Start but w/o power tilt). The bracket might be a little small if
you have a heavier motor or a model with power tilt. I also had an
extension handle made similar to the one shown on
    http://www.blumhorst.com/catalina27/outboard-bracket.htm (lots of
good information on this website IMO).

    Good luck.

Did you happen to get a sense of what this bracket costs? I am not
sure if it would fit my boat, since I have a swim ladder and would
have to put it off the centerline, but it looks like a fine
bracket, and the travel is probably the largest of any bracket
    available.

Has anyone installed the EZE-Slide from Breeze Industries?
It looks like a great outboard lift for the C-27.
