The one on ebay is supposedly brand new.

In all honesty, wouldn't a digital compass work quite well, too?  As long as 
someone is monitoring the headings, of course.  But with 5 people on board, 
SOMEONE should be able to pay attention to it. 

Best price I've seen on sailcomp is $559.
