Andy,

Replacement of my broken ones was pretty straightforward, but from your question I suspect that your slides are attached differently from mine.

Mine are attached through grommets in the luff. The slides themselves have a stainless screw going through the pin end. The replacements are standard and not very costly. I got mine from West Marine.

Some I've seen don't have the screw, but rather have a split, barely flexible, integral nylon pin that pressure fits through to a hole in the opposite side of the slide loop.

These are common enough that I carry two or three spares, and I have provided them to people who have boats other than Catalinas, specifically a 26 foot O'Day.

Sorry not to be of more help. Sounds like you might need the services of a sailmaker.

I have a question regarding the installation of the above. While
unpacking my mainsail I noticed that some of the plastic sail slides
that slide into the track on the mast have broken and need to be
replaced. If I remember correctly they seemed to have been fastened to
the mainsail by means of a sail fabric attachment. Has anyone had to
replace these sail slides and if so how did you go about doing it?

I found the plastic sail slides and just need to attach them to the
mainsail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
