The answer seems simple - slap a mast and hull on a Prius. Now THAT would be a
real hybrid.

Subject: Re: catalina27-talk: Prices w C270

Speaking of prices, I dont know, it's probably just me, but has the
whole PRICE thing gone through the roof?

I'm sort of in the market for a new boat, and have just been kinda
strolling thru the aisles, looking around. There
are a zillion offerings out there and it's probably a great time to buy
a boat....a USED boat.

I was looking at a new Antrim 27 and all-up, that baby is going to come
home at almost 80!!! EIGHTY!!
80 large for a freaking boat you wouldnt want to weekend on!!! (but
you'd have fun, at least on a daily basis)

SO, when I saw Bob Perry's review saying a C 28 comes in at "comfortably
less than 50," well, I guess there's
some hope. That sounds like it's at least approaching some sort of
reasonable value...although that 50 wouldn't
include the grin-factor of the Antrim, you wouldn't need to sell a
kidney on eBay.

rant over....anyway, I still cant afford either. I'm just amazed at what
these things cost in light of what 25 Large will buy
you in the automotive realm. Economy of scale, I know.
