Ashton,
I purchased and installed the kit on my C27 last year. First, get butyl
rubber from an RV supply store for the window/cabin joint. Second, I fitted
the vinyl window channel between the glass and frame, reassembled the windows,
and then shrank the vinyl with a heat gun at the corners to get a tight seal.
After that, disassembled the windows and put life seal in the vinyl u-channel
for the glass to vinyl joint and then in the channel on the aluminum frame for
the vinyl to aluminum joint. It was a bear to get the windows off the boat as
well as back on to the boat and even worse to clean the old sealing compound
off the aluminum and glass (a key step for a successful seal). No leaks but I
wouldn't want to do the job again. Perhaps you could contact Catalina Direct
Tech Support for some more tips.
