Parallel = 2x amps (2 12volt, 100amp = 12 volt, 200 amp Series = 2x volts (2 12 v, 100a = 24v, 100a Given the batteries are the same. It's also not a good idea to connect 2 dissimilar batteries together (age or type), the weaker will drag down the stronger, even when switched off.
