November 18, 2013

ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK




Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     11/19: Both the GLOSSY and the WHITE-FACED IBIS were relocated at the 
Visitor’s Center but have not been reported since.


Onondaga County
------------

     11/23: A late RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported at a feeder in the 
south part of Syracuse. It has been present through 11/23.
     11/24: A SNOWY OWL was reported at Hancock Airport. A late ROSE-BREASTED 
GROSBEAK has been visiting a feeder on Sunview Drive in Elbridge.


Cayuga County
------------

     11/23: An Onondaga Audubon field trip to Fairhaven State Park turned up 
numerous waterfowl highlighted by RED-THROATED LOON, GLAUCOUS GULL and KING 
EIDER.


Oswego County
------------

     11/23: An ICELAND GULL was seen at Derby Hill.
     11/24: One LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and two ICELAND GULLS were seen at 
Derby Hill.
     11/25: A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was seen near a feeder in Constantia.


Oneida County
------------

     11/25: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was observed at a residence in Durhamville.
