January 30, 2022

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     1/30: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at Carncross Road. A LESSER BLACK-BACKED 
GULL was seen in the mucklands on Rt.31 west of the Seneca River.

     2/2: A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was seen from VanDyne Spoor Road.







Cayuga County

     1/30: A CACKLING GOOSE was seen from Maiden Lane north of Port Byron.







Oswego County

------------




     1/30: A RED-THROATED LOON was seen in Oswego Harbor.

     2/2: An ICELAND GULL was seen in the Oswego River in Phoenix. A NORTHERN 
SHRIKE was seen in Williamston

     2/5: A male BARROW’S GOLDENEYE was seen on Lake Ontario from East Twelvth 
Street in Oswego. 3 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Stone Hill Road near 
Williamston.







Onondaga County

------------




     1/30: A NORTHERN SHRIKE continues at Three Rivers WMA north of 
Baldwinsville. It is usually seen from Smokey Hollow Road near the duck blind.

     2/2: 2 BLACK VULTURES were seen on Rt. 5 in Fayetteville near Lyndon 
Corners.

     2/4: An ICELAND GULL was seenon the Marshy Spits on the south west shore 
of Onondaga Lake.

     2/5: A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was discovered in a large flock of 
Canadas at the corner of Connors Road and West Sorrell Hill Road south of 
Baldwinsville. 3 SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen from Burnet Road north of Rt.31 
just east of the intersection with Rt. 81 in Cicero.







Madison County

------------




     1/31: 5EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Eden Hollow Road south of Erieville.

     2/1: 8 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Carpenter Road east of Sheds.4 WOOD 
DUCKS were seen on Hardwood Island Road north of Canastota.

     2/3: A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen in flight in Chittenango.







Herkimer County

------------




     2/2: 2 BLACK VULTURES were seen in flight from East Jefferson Street in 
Little Falls.
