You can extend up to a maximum of 4 years. So I can take three different
CCIE written exams the same day and extend my cert up to 4 years total.

Dave this is a very entertaining debate.......

I believe you are correct on the first part but I was told you only add 2
years to your expiration, and writtens only extend 2 years from that date
when taken within the 2 year window. So you can't extend out 10 years, only
4..... so I was told.....

months of expiration? I am going to open a case with the Cisco
certification team just to be 100% sure. I have heard both and it is truly
confusing. The every 24 months thing seems to be in question as i took a
security written in 2007, which got me to 2010 and then another one in 2008
which got me to 2012.

Mine expires on the 23rd of July in 2012, so technically the 24 of July 2010
is within 2 years, right? Would just hate to spend the money and time to
take the test and be told 'you needed to wait until the 26th' or something.
