I tried doing that and found it was difficult to keep things stable and get through any reasonable labs successfully. For basic functionality, sure, GNS3 is ok. I soon found myself troubleshooting GNS3, not the labs.
If you've got it working, stable and fully functional with the level of configuration we will see in the lab, you are fortunate.
