I agree that some things don't work.  If you have the money lying
around, the physical equipment would always be better than using a
simulator.  I have an ASA5505 with a IPS module in it, and a catalyst
switch.  Other than that, I use GNS3 for everything else.

I tried doing that and found it was difficult to keep things stable and
get through any reasonable labs successfully.  For basic functionality,
sure, GNS3 is ok.  I soon found myself troubleshooting GNS3, not the
labs.

If you've got it working, stable and fully functional with the level of
configuration we will see in the lab, you are fortunate.
