I have learnt cisco plans to release Virtual image of IronPort WSA somewhere
around March 2013 (just like .ova templates we have available for vWLC &
vMSE).

IPS can also be run on 7.0 code (have some minor bugs though) & 15.2M series
code can be run on emulators i.e gns3/dynamips. ASA8.4(2) too is perfectly
testable on gns3. So, I would say you guys still have plenty of virtual gear
to play with on a good i7 with 8GB/16GB ram & for missing pieces, use
physical gear or rack rentals.

As far as I know IronPort cannot be run on VMWARE...BUUUUUT, it's built on
top of a FreeBSD operational system so, maybe if we change something on the
code it can be virtualized...

Dears,

Regarding ISE, ACS and WLC we can run them on virtual machines. Does anyone
know if the ironport WSA runs on VMWARE also?

Please advise.

The problem I see in the delay is that v4 rack is not cheap to make. We
calculated the cost for a complete rack and it turns out to be near 30,000 $
. Unlike v3 where a lot activity wa possible on gns3 and pemu. From hardware
wise it wasn't that expensive as well. But now the vendors have to prepare
multiple new racks at a high cost. I haven't seen any training vendor to e
out with their new training material even though the blue print was
announced more than six months.

Best of luck guys.

If you look at IPX's page, they have updated it to show that it will still
ship in December. I'll check with my rep as I'm waiting as well.

Cheers.

I am personally practicing all v3 questions till I see the new v4 IPX or INE
labs. This is just to stay in touch with what I have learned since it is so
easy to forget about it.

Somewhere on this link I found out that IPX will be out sometime next year
by the end of April.

Do not know exactly on which page.

Best Regards.
