You can do it either way but I would prefer the “access port mode” as trunk
method is normally used on old switches where “access mode” doesn’t work.

Hi Bruno,

First of all I do not speak for IPX, but my understanding is that the reason
for why the vol1 has the old way of configuring the ports on ESW module is
because of at the time of when it was written this was the way these ports
were configured. 

 

I can from my own experience say that you definitely can configure these
ports with the access port mode. This is what I did after I realized that
this was now supported. But it might be good to practise on both methods,
you never know if you will get that as a requirement in the lab.

why we need to configure trunk mode on esw,why not access mode .i have test
the access mode is ok.
