We are actually redesigning the topology for just such a scenario. We will
be adding two 2106s to what is currently listed. The 6500/WiSM will be part
of a separate lab. So, you should be fine. And thanks!

Jason

I have purchased the blended solution and have a question with regards to
the topology.

I have a lab set-up that is similar to the Fast Lane set-up and I wondered
how adaptable your workbook will be for working with my existing topology. I
am sure I am in the same position as many other on this list where I have
loads of kit but a 6500 with Sup720 and WiSM is going to be difficult to get
hold of. I am aware of the remote rack that you have available, but do you
thing most of the tasks in your Workbook 1 could be carried out without the
WiSM?

Regards

Phil

Everyone,

Just got the book.

Dont buy it

Unless you are just now starting to learn what wireless is. Open-mouthed
smile

I think there are more in depth deeper knowledge books out there, I hope at
least.

This is more of a hmm starter up book it seems, kind of thin for a Cisco
book and doesnt go as deep as I would have hoped.

But looks great on my ever growing book shelf of CBooks. Just my 2 cents.

I still have to take the Written for CCIE Wireless - I wanted to complete
the CCNA/CCNP Wireless, get through me projects (done and still doing for
mesh), and then do a few labs (the whole blueprint actually), then take the
Written... finally waxing the lab.

:)

Like Stefan said, it is more theoretical, than hands-on. Also, for the
current blueprint, it has several features that aren't available in the 4.2
train (like VideoStream). If I was preparing for the written exam, or just
beginning preparation for the lab, I would take a look at it. I did look at
it after I took the lab the first time, which was a little late. But, I had
a Safari subscription, which made it easy to look and see. If you're
preparing for the written or starting lab prep (which I know you - Kelvin,
Stefan, and Darby - are not), Safari is a good investment.

Hi Kevin,

I took a look at the rough cut.

The book covers protocol overviews and design aspects, but does not deal
with configuration.

In my opinion it's a good source for theoretical knowledge, but not really
connected to the practical exam.

Stefan

If so - is it any good?
