I forgot to add that Jason has already confirmed this DSG bug.
Sorry for the confusion!

Regards
Stefan

PS: again a reason, why a central "bug tracking tool" would be very helpful for
this community ...

Thanks Stefan.

- DTIM period:

Agree, it should be configured under SSID, not dot11radio interface (as I did).
If we configure DTIM period under SSID as you suggested, then in DSG we should
see:

dot11 ssid HQData2
   vlan HQData2
   authentication open eap eap_methods
   authentication key-management wpa optional
   mbssid guest-mode dtim-period 2

And we have:

dot11 ssid Test3
   mbssid guest-mode

Hi,

- VLAN names:

I had the chance to talk to Jason about this (I had the same thoughts as you) -
this is just matter of wording :)

- Test5:

the clients are using CCK - since 802.11a uses only OFDM there is no need to
enable d1

- DTIM period:

you can set a DTIM interval individually for each SSID when using mbssid mode:

dot11 ssid YOURSSID
mbssid guest-mode dtim-period xy

hth!

Stefan

Betreff: [CCIE Wireless] Lab 3.2 questions

Jason,

Lab 3.2 begins with:

Configure the following SSIDs. Each SSID will have the following parameters:
 - Use the name of the VLANs for the SSIDs.

In DSG all SSIDs are Test1, Test2, etc... Should not we use name of the VLANs
instead - HQGuest1, HQData1, etc?

For SSID Test5 task does not specify what radio interface it should be applied
to - 2.4 / 5 / both ? DSG suggests 2.4 only (dot11 0.15) - why?

For SSID Test3 we need:
 - Broadcast this SSID, with a DTIM of 200 msec

My understanding is that we do not need to do anything, as the default beacon
period is 100, and the default DTIM is 2. Therefore if we configure 'beacon
dtim-period 2' it won't appear under config. Could explanation be added to DSG
with regards to this please?

Thank you.
