Vitaly,
Responses are inline below. Thanks for the feedback! Jason Boyers - CCIE #26024 (Wireless) Technical Instructor - IPexpert <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Vitaly Fokin Sent: Sunday, January 23, 2011 2:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [CCIE Wireless] Lab 3.2 questions Jason, Lab 3.2 begins with: Configure the following SSIDs. Each SSID will have the following parameters: - Use the name of the VLANs for the SSIDs. *** This has confused others as well. I will updated the wording for that. Replace the word "for" with "under." So, Use the name of the VLAN under the SSID. The point is to use the VLAN name instead of the VLAN number. In DSG all SSIDs are Test1, Test2, etc... Should not we use name of the VLANs instead - HQGuest1, HQData1, etc? *** This would relate to the first point. For SSID Test5 task does not specify what radio interface it should be applied to - 2.4 / 5 / both ? DSG suggests 2.4 only (dot11 0.15) - why? *** Remember which data rates will use CCK. That will answer your question. For SSID Test3 we need: - Broadcast this SSID, with a DTIM of 200 msec My understanding is that we do not need to do anything, as the default beacon period is 100, and the default DTIM is 2. Therefore if we configure 'beacon dtim-period 2' it won't appear under config. Could explanation be added to DSG with regards to this please? *** The requirement to broadcast this SSID with Test2 being broadcast on the same AP means that MBSSID is required. For the DTIM piece, although it is the default, it can be specified separately under the SSID configuration. It may have been less confusing if I had specified 300 msec (or some other non-default value). Thank you. ------------------ Vit
