Thanks all,

I enjoyed seeing various versions of kits you guys have been making.
Some very resourceful and imaginative.

I have been investigating. I really like the idea to have a ready
professional looking kit that you can easily travel with. (I do a lot of work
"abroad" since I live on a island...)

And this Castray seems to be it. For the cost, yes it seems rather high
but in my mind it is a question of payback in x time. I am not
gonna charge less for my site-surveys even though I will
be quicker with this tool. With something like this a
site-survey is something that can be sold more aggressively.
The market (customers) needs to understand that site-surveys
are still necessary and beneficial.

A favorite quote:
An error missed in planning can be 10 times more costly to fix in the
implementation stage and 100 times more costly to fix in the operation stage.
Investments in planning and planning tools generally pay for themselves many
times over.

Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Wireless] Site survey kits

That's a mighty steep price for a caster tray. I do appreciate that it is made
in USA (not much is anymore).

Most of us that do surveys on a regular basis prefer ad-hoc easy to break
down/carry on a plane/off the shelf hardware survey kits.

This is how I do my ap-on-a-stick site surveys:

There are many other ways to rig up a survey kit.. for example:

Hey group,

one thing probably off topic.

Has anyone tried something like this ?

http://www.castertray.com/surveyor.html

IT sounds cool and Also can save some time during site-survey.
With the battery you are rid of the power connection issues e.t.c.
