My concurrence as well, I had to do that on a 1242 that appeared to fail to 
complete the LWAPP conversion process... except had to RSPAN the port (in a 
remote, fiber connected warehouse) back to where I was working on the customer 
site. Wireshark is your friend.

I did not sniff as I was supporting through phone.
So I didn´t have the patience for sniffer tracing :)

So I can´t answer. I would love to do the sniffer trace
cause this sounds like an interesting problem.

You gotta do the full monty sniffer trace.

Do you see the complete 4 parts of the DHCP? Does the DHCP request include the 
Vender Code ID?

At least you get to practice your SPAN configuration. :)
