Hi! One controller managind all your APs is definetely a bad design from the availability point of view (any vendor). You can set up WISM2 to manage APs in local mode (default), so all AP's and user traffic will traverse your (single) switch. Alternatively, you may configure your APs in "H-REAP" mode with local switching, so all management traffic will go via WISM, and user traffic will be switched locally (good for branch offices).
Between a Cisco and Aruba controller, it is better to choose one you are more familiar with. If you are not familiar with any, better hire a good consultant. Cisco controllers vs Arouba: What's more better in terms of handling users data traffic? Network Information: - Network setup is Collapse Network. - 1 Wism2 controller inserted inside a 6500 core switch. - 500 AP manage by the Wism As to my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that all data gathered by the APs will be process at the core switch while the Wism will just manage the APs and the users. And somewhere in the future this could break the 6500 switch :(. I've checked Arouba controller and I found out that all data processing are done not on the core switches but at distribution layer. One big point for Arouba. I'm I right? Thanks in advance.
