Dear Fang Shen , I have never use top under linux or windows. It may be more stable on unix system than on others , I think. I have download the help file of top two years ago. Unfortunately ,it was lost neither on my pc or the net. And the author was disappeared since then. Lsqman or SSM are other choices to compare the detail of two or more structures.
