We are inviting applications for a research associate to work with the team of Prof. Jane Endicott (http://www.bioch.ox.ac.uk/aspsite/index.asp?pageid=73&Group_ID=20) at the University of Oxford. The project, which will be carried out in collaboration with the group of Martin Noble and the laboratory of Oliver Billker at Imperial College London, will investigate the structure and function of a family of plant-like calcium-dependent protein kinases in malaria parasites (see Billker et al., (2004) Cell 117:503-14). This project aims to elaborate the mechanisms of these unusual parasite signaling proteins through structure/function studies and to evaluate them as targets for pharmacological intervention. The post will be based in Oxford and would suit a candidate with a strong interest and past experience in the structural biology of signaling molecules. For informal enquiries please contact Jane Endicott ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Applications (including cover letter, CV and names of two referees) may be submitted to: Prof. Jane Endicott, Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics, Rex Richards Building, South Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3QU. The closing date for applications is Friday December 1st, 2006. |
